Integrative Therapy Services in California

A Personalized Path to Healing

You've built an impressive life on the outside—successful career, responsibilities managed, everything seemingly under control. But privately, you're exhausted from managing the lasting impacts of complex PTSD or childhood trauma. If you're ready to move beyond just coping and transform your relationship with your past, my integrative therapy approach offers a powerful path forward.

What Integrative Therapy Means for You

Rather than using a one-size-fits-all method, I draw from several powerful modalities to support your healing. This isn't just about feeling "better"—it's about building a life that feels aligned, fulfilling, and emotionally secure. My goal is to help you reconnect with your inner wisdom, reclaim your energy, and create relationships that nourish, not drain you.

My integrative approach combines:

  • Narrative Therapy to help you re-author problem saturated stories into preferred stories of resilience

  • EMDR Therapy to process trauma and anxiety without having to relive every detail

  • Parts Work (IFS-Informed) to help different aspects of yourself work together harmoniously

  • Skills Building for practical life-enhancing tools

  • Emotion Processing to safely feel, understand, and release buried emotions

  • Symptom Reduction & Nervous System Support to calm your system and restore balance

As your therapist, I tailor this integrated approach to meet you exactly where you are. Each person brings unique experiences, and therapy should honor that uniqueness. Through our therapeutic conversations, you'll discover that healing means more than managing symptoms—it's about fundamentally transforming your relationship with yourself and your experiences.

How My Integrative Approach Works

EMDR Therapy: Gentle Trauma Processing

EMDR helps you process trauma, anxiety, and emotional pain without having to relive every detail. It's a gentle yet effective way to reduce symptoms and restore balance. When traumatic memories feel stuck or overwhelming, EMDR helps your brain reprocess these experiences, reducing their emotional charge. As memories become less activating, you gain freedom to construct alternative stories about what happened and what it means for your life now.

Parts Work (IFS-Informed): Internal Harmony

We all have different "parts"—the inner critic, the perfectionist, the protector. Through Parts Work, we explore these aspects of yourself and help them work together instead of against each other. This builds self-compassion and emotional clarity.

Rather than viewing internal conflicts as problems, we understand each part as having developed for good reasons. The perfectionist may have protected you from criticism; the inner critic might have kept you safe from disappointment. Through this lens, even the parts that seem destructive are understood as trying to help in the only ways they know how.

Narrative Therapy: Re-Authoring Your Story

Through narrative practice, we explore how your dominant story might be limiting your life. You are not your problems—you are a complex person with rich life stories extending far beyond your struggles. Together, we identify alternative stories and preferred stories that better reflect your values, strengths, and hopes.

One powerful technique is externalization—creating distance between you and your challenges. Rather than "I am anxious," we explore how "anxiety visits" your life. Through externalizing conversations, clients begin seeing problems as separate influences that can be negotiated with, resisted, or understood differently.

Skills Building: Practical Tools for Daily Life

You'll learn practical tools to manage stress, set boundaries, regulate emotions, and communicate more effectively. These aren't just coping strategies—they're life-enhancing skills that become part of your daily toolkit.

Skills building might include:

  • Grounding techniques for when emotions feel overwhelming

  • Boundary-setting practices that honor your needs

  • Communication strategies that deepen connections

  • Stress management tools tailored to your lifestyle

  • Emotional regulation techniques that work with your nervous system

  •

Emotion Processing: Creating Safe Space for Feelings

Together, we'll create a safe space to feel, understand, and release emotions that have been buried or overwhelming. You'll learn how to stay grounded even when things feel intense. Many high-achieving adults have learned to intellectualize feelings rather than feel them, or find emotions so overwhelming they've developed elaborate avoidance strategies.

Through our work, you develop a new relationship with your emotional life. Grief becomes a testament to your capacity for love. Anger signals where boundaries need attention. Fear points to what matters most to you. This isn't about controlling emotions but understanding them as valuable information.

Symptom Reduction & Nervous System Support

Whether you're dealing with anxiety, burnout, or trauma responses, we'll work to calm your nervous system and reduce distressing symptoms so you can feel more like yourself again. This involves understanding how trauma lives in your body and learning to recognize and respond to nervous system activation.

We'll explore how your system learned to protect you and develop new ways to find safety and regulation. This might include somatic awareness, breathing techniques, or movement practices—all tailored to what works for your unique system.

Who Benefits from Integrative Therapy?

High-Achieving Adults with Hidden Struggles

I specialize in supporting adults between 25-55 who appear successful but privately battle the effects of complex PTSD or childhood trauma. You're the person others rely on, yet internally you struggle with emotional dysregulation, disconnection, and self-doubt.

My integrative approach is particularly effective if you:

  • Feel exhausted from maintaining a "perfect" facade

  • Experience intrusive memories or emotional flashbacks

  • Struggle with relationships despite professional success

  • Feel disconnected from your authentic self

  • Are ready to move beyond survival mode into genuine transformation

Healthcare and Medical Professionals

For those in healthcare, there's often an unspoken narrative that you must be invulnerable. These cultural pressures create additional layers of shame around seeking help. Through my integrative approach, medical professionals discover they can be both healer and human—that seeking support doesn't diminish their ability to care for others.

What to Expect from Therapy Sessions

Your First Steps

I offer a free 20-minute consultation where we discuss what brings you to therapy and ensure we're a good fit. During your first full session, we explore your concerns at your pace—there's no pressure to share everything immediately. I'm interested in understanding you as a whole person, not just your struggles.

Building Our Foundation

Early sessions focus on creating safety and understanding. We'll explore your history, current challenges, and what's worked (or hasn't) in the past. This collaborative relationship shapes how we work together.

We'll identify your goals—whether that's healing from trauma, building emotional resilience, or reconnecting with yourself. Together, we map focus areas and determine which therapeutic approaches will best serve your unique needs.

Ongoing Transformation

Once established, our weekly sessions become a consistent space for deeper exploration. Each session follows what feels most important to you in that moment. The beauty of an integrative approach is that we can shift between modalities based on what you need—EMDR for processing a traumatic memory, Parts Work for internal conflict, narrative techniques for reframing your story, or skills building for immediate relief.

Progress isn't measured in checkboxes but in meaningful shifts:

  • Responding differently to familiar triggers

  • Setting boundaries without guilt

  • Accessing self-compassion where there was once criticism

  • Feeling more grounded in your body

  • Experiencing emotions without being overwhelmed

  • Connecting more authentically in relationships
